A Message to our Chapter Members

Dear Members,

As outgoing Chapter Chair, I want to share my sincere thanks to you (our members) and my fellow executive committee volunteers, as well as Ruth, Paul, Laurie and everyone at the National office, and our partner organizations/affiliates. It has been a true pleasure getting to know you all through these eventful two years and I am grateful to have had this opportunity and your wonderful support. When I embarked on

the role, we were already in the throes of the pandemic but despite the ups and downs, I am proud of our chapter’s ability to adapt to the ever-changing global situation by remaining connected in new ways. Our chapter became the pilot region for the Will Power Campaign in 2020 and championed this new public awareness movement with our member charities and advisors becoming the first to take part and provide feedback. From our virtual event in 2021 and social week in 2022 for International Women’s Day to our online education sessions, including chapter bundle offerings for Webinar Wednesdays and post-event discussions, we were thrilled to have your participation as we further explored planned giving issues and themes together.

We had planned to expand our membership base and our marketing efforts. It’s been great to see these areas growing! Our social presence has increased allowing us to have conversations flow with our community more spontaneously at times. Your responses on our members’ survey helped us uncover gaps in education and highlighted your areas of interest. We were pleased to delve into the most preferred topic – family legacy conversations – in May with speaker, Dr. Tom Deans. As well, your requests to connect at a chapter level about the Will Power Campaign inspired our June virtual gathering for charity and advisor partners. Your voice and suggestions are always valued!

And so, with a heartfelt thank you for my two-year term, I share some exciting chapter news. Over the summer, Carol Rame has transitioned from Vice Chair into the role as our new Chapter Chair! Carol brings years of expertise in gift planning and a whole lot of passion. She is committed to digging deeper into our efforts to provide quality education and meaningful networking that supports strategic charitable gift planning from all perspectives. You can read Carol’s bio here.

I hope you will join me in welcoming Carol to this rewarding role to support our chapter!

Again, much thanks to you all.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and hope to see you all in-person sometime soon,

Carrie
